Sailing in Spain

Sailing is a brilliant way to see Spain and escape the crowds and explore this stunning country, total relaxed. As one of the world’s great seafaring nations, there are plenty of opportunities to explore Spain on board a yacht – you just need to choose when to go. There are options on offer both in the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, so If you’re after sunshine and warm weather in winter, your best bet will be heading to the Canary Islands, an archipelago of 7 islands located over 1000 km south of the Spanish coast. The 7 islands all offer different landscapes and experiences – for instance, Tenerife is perfect for hiking lovers, Lanzarote has surreal volcanic landscapes while Fuerteventura is ideal for surfers.

The Mediterranean coast of Spain also offers wonderful options for sailing, if you set off from Barcelona you can head north to Costa Brava, famous for its picturesque coast and refined cuisine, or south towards Tarragona, discovering the diverse Terres del Ebre, home to several ecotourism projects. Alternatively, from Valencia the Balearic Islands are just a hop and skip away – party lovers should definitely head to Ibiza, whereas Menorca offers many opportunities to snorkel and enjoy nature.

The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands – Spain’s east Atlantic outpost, off the coast of northwest Africa. The islands offer a spectacular cruising ground, with a varied backdrop. All of the seven main islands – Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro – are within a day’s sail of each other, yet they each have their own unique character and some even have a difference in climate. Most of the marinas have excellent facilities. In terms of climate, the North African influence also means Lanzarote and Fuerteventura get almost no rain.

Barcelona

One of the arguably most exciting Mediterranean cities to experience aboard your yacht is Barcelona. Yacht charter in Barcelona will give you an amazing opportunity to explore the city every tourist falls in love with, as well as its surroundings. Cruise along the Catalan coastline and soak the sun while lying on the deck of your sailing yacht with your friends or family. Enjoy the amazing view of Barcelona’s skyline away from the busy city. As the night falls, the city turns into one big party you don’t want to miss. Wild rhythms of flamenco can be heard on the streets, jazz music from basements, indie rock from concert halls.

Mallorca

Mallorca harbor is framed by Palma’s gothic cathedral and citadel. It is an island of contrasts – a blend of bustling fishing ports, such as Andraitx, Soller and Pollensa – where some of the finest restaurants and shops are to be found. The rugged west coast offers fascinating landscapes, with lofty pine-topped mountains dropping steeply into the sea. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
